Dos de cada tres fallecidos por la Covid-19 en España son personas mayores que vivían en residencias. Hablamos con Ana Urrutia, doctora en geriatría, emprendedora social y gerente de un centro de mayores, sobre las dificultades que su sector ha debido afrontar durante la pandemia y la necesidad de apostar por un modelo centrado en los derechos y la protección de las personas mayores, no solo para prevenir futuros contagios, sino para defender su dignidad como seres humanos.
Revisando noticias nuevas y de estos meses atrás sobre el famoso coronavirus, me encuentro entre otras muchísimas informaciones con estas dos:
De un lado el artículo de la prensa digital de elcorreodepozuelo y de otro, un artículo de un periódico (creo que lo es), que por lo que he podido ver hasta ahora, parece que funciona ideológicamente bastante independiente, amén de tener una estética que a mí particularmente, me parece estupenda.
El tema es que los datos de ambos, los enfoques, los contenidos sobre una misma cuestión no tienen nada que ver entre sí.
Como tengo opinión propia, me decanto absolutamente por las declaraciones de la entrevistada en Theobjective, la doctora en geriatría Ana Urrutia:
“Las residencias son un lugar de vida, un servicio social. Si un ciudadano que vive en su casa tiene todos sus servicios sanitarios, ¿el ciudadano que vive en la residencia tiene que tener otros especiales? Las personas que están en las residencias tienen derecho a ser atendidos por los servicios sanitarios y no les han acogido. Yo he tenido el miedo de enviar a mis pacientes a los hospitales porque estaba segura de que los iban a aparcar”.
