Este estudio es una «evidencia» que he constatado con mi madre, viéndola tirar de recursos en la época en la que aún era consciente de que algo iba francamente mal. Hemos visto y, nos lo comentó el neurólogo (uno de ellos), en su momento, como además de por su capacidad intelectual, también por su formación, mi madre intentaba salir de apuros, usando recursos mentales muy sutiles. Yo, lo relaciono con esta noticia.
«Investigadores liderados por un equipo del Instituto de Neurociencias de la Universitat de Barcelona (UBNeuro) ha identificado mayor espesor cortical en el lóbulo frontal en un grupo de personas de edad avanzada que presentaban altos niveles de educación –de 15 años o más–.
El estudio, publicado en ‘The Journal of Neuroscience’, evidencia por primera vez en humanos las características moleculares de las áreas cuyo espesor varía en función de la educación y confirma estudios anteriores que habían sugerido que la educación, en tanto que actividad cognitivamente estimulante, modula los mecanismos de plasticidad cerebral».
